Diamond Meadows

In 2015 I participated in a collective and collaborative performance piece located throughout the underground

transportation concourse in Philadelphia’s City Hall. My specific performance was a ritual of weeds, a silent meditation and

that created an aphonic, recontextualized space in which to explore plants. My friends and fellows artists and I gathered

local weeds from abandoned lots and decorated each other with them - finding what native means, what an invasive

really is - just plants that are growing where they are unwanted. As an artist I think that can deeply resonate with people

- how we feel disconnected from the land in our current society - and how we can be open to new unexpected ways of

connecting with all plants, and with each other.
